LongevityMate turns blood test data, optional wearable context, goals, and lifestyle answers into educational insights. This page outlines the high-level process we use so users can understand what powers each report, dashboard, and Mate response.

1. Data intake and normalization

We ingest biomarker values, units, and dates from uploaded or manually entered results. Where users choose to connect Apple Health or Health Connect, we can also use authorized wearable summaries for extra context. We normalize units where possible so values can be compared consistently over time.

2. Biomarker grouping and scoring

Core biomarkers are grouped into eight scored health categories. Each category uses Must biomarkers to unlock the score, then folds in Support biomarkers when they are available to refine the result. The Essential biomarker panel also includes every marker needed for biological age estimation.

Full marker coverage is listed on the Test Guide.

How biological age is calculated

LongevityMate uses Clinical PhenoAge, which combines chronological age with nine blood measurements. We identify the calculation version and show the measurements and units used. This is a research based estimate, not a direct measurement of how old every part of your body is.

How the Health Score is calculated

Your Health Score summarises the available category scores. Within each category, biomarkers have individual relative weights. The calculation details show which results contributed, their weights, the scoring ranges and any adjustments.

Each available category contributes equally to the Health Score. With all eight categories available, each contributes 12.5%. Missing categories are excluded from the average. Within a category, the weights are normalised over the biomarkers that can be scored. The app also shows category requirements and any derived score adjustments.

What the weights and ranges mean

Our category weights are LongevityMate scoring choices. A citation supporting a biomarker does not automatically validate its numerical weight. Laboratory reference ranges and treatment targets are also different. We show the source and context of published ranges, and clearly identify any range whose supporting source has not yet been documented.

Supporting source not yet documented

This label means the supporting citation for a scoring range has not been documented in the score data. It is not evidence of a universal treatment target.

In your account, select “How this was calculated” on the Health Score or biological age details, then “Download score data”. The download contains the original results, calculation units, ranges, weights, model version and a standalone calculator. No account name or email is included.

3. AI-assisted recommendation drafting

AI components use your structured biomarker context, goals, onboarding answers, available wearable signals, and progress history to draft educational suggestions and action priorities. Outputs are intended to support informed discussions with clinicians, not replace them.

See boundaries and known limitations on the AI Limitations page.

4. User controls and privacy

Users can update entries, control connected data sources, export information, and request deletion. Data handling details are documented in our Privacy Policy and usage boundaries are in the Terms of Service.
